1 month.

Oh how fast the time goes. H is growing everyday. She's a very alert and sensitive baby. She wakes at a pin drop. She's been fairly uncomfortable during the night resulting in a whole lot of grunting. I'm working dairy out of my diet to see if it will help. She has the loveliest eyes. The kind you can get lost in, and my favorite red hair. We are all loving her sweet presence. Even E.

I'm already preparing to go back to work next week. I have mixed emotions. I'm excited to get my creative juices flowing again, but I'm starting to feel a bit sad. It's only 2 days a week right? How do you cope when it's time to go back?

Since she's a light sleeper have you tried a sound machine to block out other noises? My friend had one and I got one (just from Wal-Mart) and it's such a help when you have a baby or a napping toddler. They usually make different sounds like water, white noise, ocean waves, etc. Anyways, just a thought!

The sound machine is an excellent idea...or even just a fan. She is beautiful, good luck balancing everything to come :)

When I had to go back to work after my second baby, I brought lots of pictures of her with me. Everyday. That got me through! Sending good thoughts!

My baby is three months old and she did the same grunting through the night and seemed so uncomfortable. We tried propping her up in the night- her sleeping in her padded car seat in the bassinet and the grunting stopped. She has acid reflux and is also on zantac and we haven't heard a grunt since. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm dying. I'm sure I'll be crying in the bathroom but a mommas gotta do what she's gotta do. It will still be nice to get out of the house.

I'm not sure how I cope still...my little one is 5 now and just started Kindergarten. As a mommy I just tell myself that I do what I can and give the rest to God.

I can't lie, I was actually ready to go back to work. Being a stay at home mom is just not for me...I need the routine, adult talk, etc. Plus it helps that my little man LOVES his daycare and his friends there! Good luck, you will do just fine! She kinda looks like her little brother... :-)

I love your blog! You are gorgeous and I just love it all. Anyway, my baby girl had the same thing..grunting, couldn't sleep, etc. We put her on Zantac and it was like magic. Seriously. Ask your doctor, it stops all the bad symptoms. Just remember that working is part of taking care of them. :) I know it's hard, good luck!

She is beautiful! She looks so much like her brother already! I hope your first day back to work goes smoothly that has to be so tough, but you said two days a week right, that should make it a lot easier, prob may even be nice to have some adult time like the other girls have said :)

WHAT? Hazel is already a month old? I swear that was just last week.

Just look at your time going back to work as a way to feed you. Sometimes I feel guilty about blogging & freelancing as much as I do - but if I quit, I'd miss out on a whole lot of enrichment. I feel like I'm a better mom if I have a project for me on the side.

You'll just appreciate Hazel that much more when you get back from work!

I followed a blog for a long time and then lost all my favorites. Maybe you can help me find it again? It was a vintage fashion blog by a woman in Utah she also did film oly photography and just moved to London w/ her little family...ring any bells! Thanks! Happy Fall!

Good luck with work! My situation is pretty similar - big brother, little sister, and working part time. It was hard to go back to work both times and I felt guilty about leaving both kids for different reasons... but I find I appreciate them so much more than I might if I were with them all the time. So, the time we have together is quality and not taken for granted. So, I guess there's some good there.

By the way, she's so adorable!

She is so precious! I adore all the pictures. My second daughter was quite fussy and gassy too. Along with some dietary changes on my part we started her on BioGaia probitic drops. She was like a new (happy) baby in less than 24 hours!

Found your blog from Sydney's at Daybook ... Hazel Jane?!? I LOVE THAT!! She is precious! Your outfits are very inspirational - I am a thriftaholic as well ... I'm trying to have more confidence to follow through on the fashion side of it though...I mostly buy vintage junk...I mean, treasures for the house. Love your blog!
