ISLY pick me up.

It's been a while since I've posted. I have to be honest, I just plain couldn't do it. I mentioned I was working on several projects for a Holiday Catalog photo shoot right? My new job at Uppercase Living is pretty great. I'm loving the opportunity to draft up ideas for new and fresh concepts and then see them come to life. (Too bad I won't be able to share the finished projects until the fall!) Having said that, I'm also learning that preparing for a photo shoot is an insane amount of work! I have a new appreciation for the Martha Stewart staff, that's for sure. When I view pretty images of finished projects from her website, I now think to myself: "how pretty! There were definitely cuss words involved in that process!" Anyway, I had one day left to go on my projects, and I suddenly became really sick. The timing could not have been any worse. It was the most aggressive spell of flu like symptoms I have ever felt. My body was seriously trying to get rid of anything I managed to get in it. I'll spare you too many details, except to say that I had to spend a couple of days just resting. By Thursday I had plans to meet up with Melissa, and it was just what I needed!

You read ISLY right? Me too. It's one of my favorite blogs. Melissa is so insanely talented. When she invited me to come take a look at some of her maternity selections, I did NOT hesitate to take her up on it. We share a serious love for thrifting and finding vintage treasures. She was so kind to hand over a ton of darling pieces! I can't wait to wear them and show you what fab style she has. The truth is, she completely made my day. She's like that. Really, really, sweet. I even like her enough to hand over some of my thrifted treasures. Note the red shoes? I knew she could do them justice.

I had a really good time, and now I'm fashionably inspired once again. Not to mention inspired to be a better friend all around. Check out more of Melissa's thrifty fashion on her fashion blog.
