Holiday Family Pictures

Here's my favorite little man with the remnants of a giant tired temper tantrum. I love that Jess captured the essence of our family picture day experience which E would consider to be a big fat scheduling conflict. Seeing as we had to wake him up early from a nap in order to meet the timing expectation which had a lot to do with the lighting.
It seems like no matter how hard I tried to schedule a time that would work for all 3 of us, and our photographer, and the lighting, we just couldn't find a date/time that was ideal for everyone. Am I the only one with this problem? While we look all smiles in the pictures presented, Travis and I were both very stressed over the objective of trying to get our little E to perk up. So what did I do? I gave him a big fat cookie. For the record, I'm against bribing as a parenting strategy. Was this a bribe? Technically. Did it work? Like a charm.

When I first showed Trav his picture attire, he thought it was ridiculous. I promised him it would work out, and can I just say how handsome I think he looks?? I found his blazer, dress shirt, and tie ALL at D.I. (thirft). My dad was a big help in assisting me with putting it together. He pulled out the unexpected navy tie which is a vintage Yves Saint Laurent.

And now I need your help. I've tried my hand at a few designs for our Christmas card and I would love your opinions on which picture and design look best.

Thanks in advance for your help!

All pictures were taken by my lovely, talented, and good friend Jessica Adams.

i had an "e" name in my head that just went with your little dude. but now that i know how long his name really is all swirled out, i know I'm wrong. i sound like such a creeper .. I'm not pinky promise! i just associated him with a name every time you said "e." you know? jeez, i love your pics!! they're all great!

Beautiful pictures! All of your clothes are unique and so perfect for a picture together. I love the Happy Christmas Card, the second one, the best!

Hello Sarah! I found your blog through Sydney's blog a few months ago when she posted how she met you.... just FYI :) I vote for the first card, but both are lovely. I love your outfit, and I think you did an awesome job dressing your hubby (and son!). Bet he loves how it looks now that he's seen the pics! :)

Ok I love the pic in #1 but I like the design in #2 better with the Happy Christmas and the thick flag(dunno what to call that icon) more than the arrow. Can you combine them?

Adorable adorable pics!! I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday :)

YA!!!

The pictures turned out great, despite the 'scheduling conflict' (LOL!) with E. I don't judge you on the cookie bribe ;)

Okay, I'd have to say I like the LOOK of the first Christmas card, but think the PICTURE of the second one is more ideal (I feel like your hubs isn't a huge fan of himself in the first one ... an I way off base? :S).

Sarah, your pictures are adorable! I stared at the two cards for a really long time going back and forth, so you can't go wrong with either of them! I think I finally decided on liking 1 the best.

The cards look so great, Sar. So glad the photos all worked out seeing as it was like minus nineteen degrees and we were all pretty much done for the day.

(Oh and I already told you this, but I like option 2 the best.)

Beautiful pictures! I love that little E. I always bring M&M's or Reeces Pieces on family picture day so the kids can have one in their mouth at all times and still smile.

I love the first Christmas card! They're both beautiful though.

Cute! I pick #1.

Your family looks like the coolest family ever. Now I'm regretting putting my son's name all over my blog. I like how you just use E. Too late to go back and change it?? Hmmm . . .
