Weekend Update:Thrifting and Bunco

My weekend began at one of my favorite children's consignment sales. Here are some of my favorite finds:
Vintage style Gap Pea Coat: $6.25

Tennies: $5

Christmas Tie: $1

Vintage Somersaulting Monkey: $1.50 (finished his Christmas)

I agreed to joining a Bunco group with 12 lovely ladies from my neighborhood. At first I was leery about a monthly commitment considering how busy I tend to be, but it was well worth the commitment. I had so much fun, and...I won. Beginner's luck I'm sure. I must admit that I LOVE to play games, and I'm fairly competitive. I do recall one of the ladies saying they'd be bringing ear plugs next time, [thanks to me.]

The winners. Amy, I still think you're the slowest roller on the planet.

What you can't see is that there's Candy Corn in there. That's why I'm so pumped.

As you know, it's Football season. My LEAST favorite sports season of the year. I can handle baseball, I like watching basketball, and I can tolerate golf, but I LOATHE watching football. I will admit that I've never really given it a chance, and I've never really tried to learn the rules of the game, but I just can't stand how obsessed my other half turns. I literally feel like nearly 50 gigantic, sweaty, overly aggressive, tight pant wearing buffoons have moved in to be roommates until February and there's nothing I can do about it. If we're not watching it, we're listening to it, if we're not listening to it, he's playing it, if he's not playing it, he's fantasizing his own league on the Internet. While he's been watching, I've been catching up on the last half of the Glee season that I missed. On Saturday, I believed in being a good wife. So I agreed to a football marathon as long as there were friends and food. My friend and I entrusted our husbands to take care of dinner and dessert since we were taking care of the kids.

Can you imagine our excitement when they sent us this picture via text informing us of their dinner and dessert selections?

And last of all, I wore my new pencil skirt to church.

Top: Downeast
Skirt: Thrifted $6, D.I.
Shoes: $5 small local clothing store
Necklace: F21

I fell in love with the long length and the vintage floral print, but I feel I might still be learning how to wear it. Do you think I need a belt? Elaine, if you're out there, I need your expertise.

Also, I am guest posting at Design A-Peele today!

That skirt is awesome. I do think a belt would pull it all together. I never tuck my shirts in because my tummy is a major problem area, but if I did, I would be wearing belts all the time.

Ah, that's a great prize...even without the candy corn!

I love the skirt, and a belt would accentuate your waist (but I'm a belt lover and wear them all the time).

And I love football. Number two sport to watch right behind cycling. Seriously. Love it.
