Nautical Baby Shower

As previously mentioned, I recently styled a baby shower for 2 sweet girls (that I happen to be related to.) It started out as a Nautical Theme and sort of turned into- "Let's have a picnic by the lake and go sailing." I love it when events turn out not so "over themed" and more unique. This was one of my first projects in my endeavors to start dabbling in the field a little bit more, so I would love feedback. I was super lucky to have my good friend Jessica photograph the event. She's a really talented aspiring photographer. You'll want to check out her blog too. She's just a gem all the way around. Enjoy the pics!

I was inspired to make this Nautical garland/bunting by a Martha Stewart version.

Isn't this picnic basket perfect? It belongs to my Gram.

Doughnut flags were made with left over ribbon and toothpicks.
Believe it or not, these plastic "life preservers" were previously in my jewelry box.

Have you all seen these little pails at the dollar store? I thought they would be perfect and added a custom fabric covered button.
Oh, the vintage Coke crate. It belongs to my aunt. I wish it were mine.
Vintage hand sewn quilt pieces.
And lastly, a place to leave the new mommies advice.

Okay, favorites are the upside down crates for display, and the ticking fabric. Also, loved the anchors and life rafts...okay, wait. Looks like they're ALL favorites! Seriously, you have flair, chick. Real flair.

Think you meant dabbling not dappling.

Dappling a. Mottled or spotted marking, as on a horse's coat.

Dabbling : a superficial or intermittent interest, investigation, or experiment
