Weekend Update: 4th of July Festivities

The weekend started out strong with a BBQ with friends. Then we gathered with our family for one of the most fun days this summer thus far. It was a good old American summer afternoon. We played backyard baseball. Little E wanted to play with the big kids.
Badmintton (why is that word spelled so weird?)
Mama played some T-Ball with E. This kid loves anything that has to do with balls and sports. I'm crossing my fingers that he doesn't inherit my athletic abilities.

Trampoline games with the fan club. (As always)

Sunday best.
I tried the most fun project. I made this necklace by tying little knots to an old beaded necklace.

We BBQd like crazy and E enjoyed every messy minute.

On the morning of the 5th we dappled in the annual tradition of the Benson Mill Pancake Breakfast.
Then it was time to soak up some vitamin D at the pool.
Proud to be an American!

P.S. If you'll notice, there are no pictures of any parades. I was looking forward to taking E, but missed every single parade because they were all held on Saturday, when I thought they were going to be on Monday. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Love the necklace and your little man is such a cutie. If you think the first year goes by quickly - just wait till year two! I love how quickly their little personalities develop. I'm following you from Tuesday Tag-Along! I blog about family/gardening/recipes and host reviews/giveaways at:

Have a great week!
