Summer Bucket List

Recently a blogging friend of mine had a post about her family's "summer bucket list". Since my favorite season of the year is rapidly passing me by, I loved the idea of creating my own summer bucket list. I decided to try and leave it short and achievable with just 5 items.

1. Take my E to see his first parade.

2. Host a gourmet s'more party.

3. Go on a family hike.

4. Hold a yard sale. Wishing mine could be as awesome as this one sounds.

5. Have a picnic. Hoping it looks just. like. this.

Care to share yours?

P.S. I'm still looking for any bow tutorials or photos of your bow fashion.

I heard about these smore's parties being all the craze in Utah a few weeks ago--thoroughly jealous and I would totally come!

We have our list, too! So far..drive in-movie is all we have been able to do..but hey, summer isn't over yet, right?

I held a yard sale a few weeks ago. Didn't sell big items -- mostly boy clothes that I've been hanging onto for the past 5 years. But I just had a girl and decided to PURGE since we're moving. I had signs posted accordingly. A few blocks away, I put "CUTE LITTLE BOY CLOTHES!" Then where they needed to turn, I put "BOY CLOTHES" and the street we were on. Then at the end of our street, the sign just said "GREAT yard sale!" I had all florescent signs and did cute handwriting. I didn't put all the info on one sign because I can never read all the info they have in the 1/5 seconds it takes me to pass a sign. That's why I broke it up. I had a lot of people say that the signs were easy to follow and pulled them in when they weren't even planning to look at a yard sale.

Also, I sorted the clothes by size so people wouldn't have to search forever. I made nearly $200 just from clothes!

I should've mentioned it in my post today, but I was paying homage to you last week when I went thrifting with my kids (I have thrifted in years, because my kids don't seem welcome in those stores, weird!) But I went and found this among other things: http://beinglds.blogspot.com/2010/07/little-warm-fuzzies.html

Oh, I did the gourmet s'mores thing just last week! If you use cookies (the crispy, Chips Ahoy kind) instead of graham crackers, I recommend roasting those too first by slowly grinding the stick through the middle. It makes the whole thing warmer and more flavorful! Good luck with your bucket list, and check out my blog Gone With the Summer if you want to see mine (:
