Vintage Wallet Re-Mix

With marriage comes a lot more birthdays, which means a lot more mulah. We've already decided to do away with gift giving for every birthday in my husband's family, but no one said we couldn't give hand made gifts...
I picked up this vintage wallet at the thrift store for $1.

How do I know of its vintage authenticity? I found this in one of the slots:

circa 1974 (sorry, it's a little blurry.)

First I jazzed up the backside of the wallet by adding some vintage lace and a black ribbon I put a little ruffle in. I just used a glue gun, but I sealed the ribbon and lace on the other side by adding felt.

Then I used the left over lace, a flat front button, and a stick on letter to monogram the front.

Happy Birthday Kate.

Very nice. I am always amazed of what everyone else finds at thriftstores and manages to see a potential in and I can not.
I love the little details you added.
